Scope of Work |
Job Purpose: The role holder's primary responsibility is to plan, design, oversee and support the Information Technology Governance, Compliance & Service Management aspects of the processes and technology in a manner that meets with the Company-wide compliance and regulatory requirements. The role holder will help identify and operationalize the Governance, Compliance & Service Management initiatives and standards that need to be applied to the operating environment. Key functional areas of the role include initiatives, such as: 1. Aligning IT strategy with business strategy (Governance), 2. Governing the organization’s client and data/information in accordance with ethical, legal and contractual requirements (Compliance), 3. Designing, delivering, managing and improving the way business uses information technology (Service Management).
Principle duties and responsibilities: • Work out and manage the structure (framework) to ensure that IT investments support business objectives by applying international standards (i.e., COBIT, ITIL). • Support to ensure that the IT processes are aligned with the internal and external regulations, policies and rules. • Lead the activities and processes that support a service throughout its lifecycle, from service management to change management, problem and incident management, asset management, and knowledge management. • Support business leaders in client-facing engagements and act as an IT Ambassador in Governance, Compliance & Information Service management initiatives. • Develop, maintain, evaluate and implement policies and procedures in line with Company, IT and relevant regulatory bodies. • Support the business requirements both national and international legislative changes, (i.e., ISO 9001/27001) • Support and ensure IT services are well aligning with records and information management guidelines. • Participate in internal and external client audits as it relates to IT governance and compliance. • In partnership with the business stakeholders, ensure services are properly positioned within client responses. • Assist in internal and external audits related to IT operation, coordinates the remediation actions within IT. • Work with other IT personnel to ensure awareness and alignment of ongoing client, industry and best practice compliance obligations. • Provide practical recommendations and solutions to complex and/or technical issues that relate to the management of client and organization’s administrative information. • Coordinate the development and maintenance of supporting procedures and processes. • Serve as liaison to, and foster good working relationships with, attorneys and others needing assistance with information governance issues. • Assist with responding to information requests from partner and other internal and external parties. • Respond proactively to both business and project issues and escalates appropriately. • Provide awareness and share the updated understanding of information management and governance. • Support the organization to obtain and maintain existing and future accreditations in accordance with applicable regulations, client requirements and industry best-practices. • Ensure that the IT systems are in line with relevant compliance, legal and ethical obligations that organisations should have with respect to logical and physical security, personally identifiable information and data protection. • Assist in monitoring the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budget to ensure any variances detected are rectified. • Exercise financial authority within established limits and controls departmental budget expenditure. • Coordinate and control the annual IT budget planning process. • Monitor and report the IT budget through the year. • Coordinate the projects within the IT department and ongoingly report the status of them. • Ensure own practices and behaviours are aligned with QAFCO vision, values, standards and procedures. • Support the development of Qataris and assist qualified Qatari nationals to occupy potential vacancies to adhere to stipulated Qatarization targets. • Participate in the on-the-job training of trainees and newly hired personnel within the Group to ensure that they develop the necessary skills to independently carry out assigned activities. • Comply with all relevant procedures of QAFCO Integrated Management System comprising of Occupational Health & Safety, Quality, Environment, Responsible Care, IFA Product Stewardship & Energy Management System. |

Additional Information |
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Engineering / Business management or relevant engineering discipline. • A minimum of 15 years direct and relevant experience in the similar role within the large organization. • Relevant professional certification in Information technology is an advantage. • Must have strong leadership, managerial, interpersonal and communications skills. • Fluency in English language; written and oral with excellent communication skills. • Ability to work effectively with other people and in a multi-nationality team. |
